Currently, no cars can enter San Francisco. The westbound lanes of the bridge are empty as traffic backs up.
Protesters on the eastbound span of the Bay Bridge blocked all westbound lanes Thursday morning, preventing cars from entering San Francisco.
Footage shows six cars blocking lanes as protesters call for a ceasefire in the Middle East.
Protesters lay with white sheets over their bodies with the text ‘Stop the genocide’ written on them.
They also held up large banners that read: “Stop the genocide. No US military aid to Israel.”
CHP officers have declared this an “unlawful assembly” and arrests are underway.
The protest is in response to world leaders, including President Biden, being in San Francisco this week for the APEC summit.
It follows that dozens of protests took place throughout the week.
