LIV Golf’s new recruit Thomas Pieters is ‘DONE by Tiger Woods’ old agent’ just days after he left the PGA Tour when the Belgian is left in obscurity: ‘Weirdest thing in the world, he just left ‘

Tiger Woods’ former agent Mark Steinberg reportedly dumped Thomas Pieters after LIV Golf’s newest recruit departed from the PGA Tour.

The 15-time major winner has long been an opponent of the Saudi-backed circuit and it appears his agent is no different.

According to Golf Insider, Alan ShipnuckPieters learned the news upon his arrival in Mexico before LIV’s first invite in its second season, which began on Friday.

Furthermore, Steinberg himself did not tell Pieters, but a ‘subordinate’ according to the report.

“The weirdest thing ever,” Pieters said. He just left.

According to Shipnuck, Steinberg doesn’t have a single client on LIV Golf’s current 48-man roster.

Steinberg did not take a portion of Pieters’ signing bonus when signing with his new employers, according to the player.

Pieters was introduced as the newest member of the sophomore circuit on Monday after Sportsmail reported in October that he was a target.

Pieters represents the second big signing of the offseason for CEO Greg Norman, who also convinced world No. 46 Mito Pereira to join the Tour.

Woods and Rory McIlroy will soon have their own league in association with the PGA Tour, called TGL. So far, 11 players have committed to the league.

In addition to the power couple, World No. 1 Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Max Homa, Billy Horschel, Justin Rose and Xander Schauffele will participate.

The concept involves six three-player PGA Tour teams facing off in match play, not unlike LIV, on a data-driven virtual course that also includes a short-game complex for chipping and putting.

It will be played on Monday nights and will take just two hours, with fans in the arena in close proximity to the action. There will be 15 games in the regular season, followed by semifinals and a final.
