A search operation is launched at sea and on land after two bodies are found on a popular beach.
At about 11.10am on Sunday, emergency services received a call about “concerns for welfare” at Little Beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, a police spokesperson said.
Police found a number of objects on rocks in the area.
“A short time later a body was found near the rocks. The person has yet to be formally identified. No further details are available at this time,” they said.
Police found a second body near the rocks around 1:40 p.m.
The police have not yet announced what items were found.
The area is currently being searched by the police Marine Area Command, which also has a helicopter present.
