Litter box company flooded with negative Amazon reviews after allegedly KILLING cats

Customers are outraged over allegations that a certain type of self-cleaning litter box is deadly to cats.

Cat product reviewer Philip Bloom sheds light on the potentially deadly robot boxes on his YouTube channel One man, five cats on saturday.

He cited the example of a woman named Carli Jay who shared on a now-deleted TikTok that an automatic litter box she purchased on Amazon allegedly killed her beloved Siamese cat Mochi.

“I went to find my cat and she was hanging from her litter box. It was tied around her neck and her body was hanging out and there was blood, red stuff, everywhere and she was gone,” Jay said through tears.

Bloom alleged that the mother was using a litter box sold on Amazon under the brand name Amztoy that rotates on a Y-axis instead of an X-axis to clean the box.

He demonstrated the alleged design flaw in a similar product he bought from Ali Express using a stuffed animal, showing that the model’s entrance closes completely when it is being cleaned.

If the sensors are not functioning properly and do not detect that a cat is in or on the litter box, the animal may become stuck in the litter box or trapped when the door closes.

The Amztoy models of the litter box are no longer available on Amazon, but Bloom found several other companies that sell the robot litter boxes with the same design.

Angry customers have flooded the reviews of these similar products with warnings about the risks they pose.

“This is very dangerous for cats as it can guillotine your cat. I can’t stress enough not to buy this as it has killed many cats,” said one reviewer of a Catlk product that apparently had a carbon copy of the design.

“This will literally decapitate your cat,” said someone else in a similar CozyBlue product review.

One reviewer said of a Kikquze litter box: ‘Faulty sensor that will trap and kill your cat. Beware, this product is from multiple sellers. DO NOT BUY IT, IT’S A SCAM.’

DailyMail.com has contacted Amazon, Catlk, CozyBlue, Kikguze and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for comment on this story.

There is no official recall issued for this type of litter box.

More and more cat owners are choosing an automatic litter box, so they don’t have to scoop the litter box several times a day and don’t have to clean up the feces all the time.

Bloom advises avoiding generic devices and opting for well-known brands.
