Sir Alex Ferguson’s immense Treble-winning side in 1998-99 completed a feat few would have thought possible by conquering the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Although the 2022-2023 Manchester City team matched their feat after several years of near misses, many still see the retro Red Devils kit as the pinnacle of English football.

But how would the serial winners fare in today’s Premier League landscape?

It all starts! co-host Chris Sutton has argued that David Beckham, Roy Keane and Co would likely be winners – even in light of Guardiola’s long-term dominance.

But the other voice of the Mail Sport podcast, Ian Ladyman, was slightly more circumspect about the prospects of transplanting the Treble winners into the modern era.

Sutton was particularly passionate about Man United’s impressive quality and depth, including the talents of super-sub – and former United manager – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former Celtic star added that the outfit were his ‘favourite’ team to watch.
