Gareth Southgate continues to fight for his team’s place at Euro 2024 as their performance at the tournament comes under pressure.

The Three Lions will face Switzerland tonight for a place in the last four of the competition, hoping to still secure a place in the final, despite not being at their best so far.

On Friday night, Spain and France played Germany and Portugal respectively in what has been called the toughest match of the tournament. The Netherlands played the other semi-final against Turkey, played by England.

Southgate has again insisted that England are not on the easy side of the draw despite the potentially favourable fixtures, with the It’s All Kicking Off! team debating the manager’s words in the latest episode of the podcast.

Mail Sport’s Ian Ladyman has admitted he doesn’t often disagree with Southgate, but he explains why he thinks the England manager has got it wrong this time.

Ian Herbert, meanwhile, pointed to the actions of one particular England player, arguing that the behaviour is inconsistent with the mentality Southgate wants his team to portray.
