England reached the final of Euro 2024 in dramatic fashion when Ollie Watkins scored a 90th-minute goal to beat the Netherlands 2-1 in Dortmund.
Despite a much improved performance on Wednesday night, it looked like the Three Lions would go into extra time for a third consecutive knockout match until Aston Villa’s star man made a last-minute intervention.
The victory was a confirmation for the much-maligned Gareth Southgate and his team will now face Spain in the final on Sunday in Berlin.
And in the latest episode of Mail Sport’s It’s All Kicking Off Euros Daily podcast, Ian Ladyman, Craig Hope and Mike Keegan discuss England’s brilliant performance that has brought them to the brink of immortality.
Hope spoke of how the Three Lions’ “brilliant” stars were finally playing “like the Premier League players they are”, while Ladyman admitted he “didn’t see this performance coming” and thought England “would make it” to the final.
The trio cheer and discuss the Three Lions’ chances of glory, while also highlighting the performance of referee Felix Zwayer after England may have been lucky to be awarded a first-half penalty.
