Lisa Wilkinson inundated with praise after debuting her new hairstyle

Lisa Wilkinson was inundated with praise from celebrity friends and fans after debuting her new hairstyle — as she continues a lengthy media hiatus: ‘You are so missed on TV’

Lisa Wilkinson debuted a flirty new hairstyle on Saturday, and her friends and celebrity pals showered her with support.

The television star, who has been scarce on social media in recent months, flaunted the shorter bob in a photo posted to Instagram.

The 63-year-old took in a sunset shot of what appeared to be a beachy location in the selfie, which also showed off her straightened, shorter hair.

“Some days are diamonds…” she wrote in the caption next to the evocative photo.

Lisa was soon inundated with positive comments, with fellow television star Amanda Keller writing, “Love you.”

British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson chimed in, “And some people are Diamonds!”

The Bachelor star and radio host Laura Bryne agreed with Nigella, writing, “you are the diamond.”

Project host Michael Hing also added a sweet comment, writing, “Absolute legend.”

Psychic Donna Maree Richardson added, “Great love Lisa, yes we miss your heart authenticity and worldly experience on TV. Your gift for connecting with people and telling their stories is a rarity.”

Fans also gushed, with one writing, “You are a diamond Lisa. You are so missed on TV’.

She used to have longer locks that fell over her shoulders

“Gosh, I miss you in my screen,” said another, while another added, “Miss seeing you on TV, I hope you’re doing well and everything is GREAT in your world!”

‘So happy for you! Hair looks beautiful,” someone else chimed in, adding another saying: “Nice haircut or style.”

The experienced reporter is currently on an extended media hiatus after leaving The Project, and is still figuring out what her next move with the network will be.

Despite no longer working, Wilkinson still rides the Channel 10 just train.

The TV presenter, who has not appeared on screens since leaving The Project in November, is still receiving a “seven-figure salary” from Ten thanks to the “watertight” deal she signed in 2021, according to The Australian.

The question now remains how the 63-year-old will spend the rest of her lucrative contract, which is said to run beyond 2023.

However, it’s unclear where such a highly paid journalist would fit into 10’s schedule, as the station is best known for its reality TV content, not news and current affairs.

“Since Wilkinson is unlikely to raise her hand for 10’s reality tentpoles like The Bachelor or jungle duty on I’m a Celebrity, her most likely next step would be some form of 10’s interview special,” reports Media Diary.

Wilkinson signed a reported $1.7 million per year deal with Ten in 2018, before signing another multi-year contract with the network in 2021.

The generous salary helped Wilkinson fund a dream lifestyle of luxury properties, fine cars, luxury fashion and first class travel abroad.

Wilkinson abruptly quit The Project in November after four years on the panel, citing “targeted toxicity” from sections of the media as the reason for her departure.
