Lisa Vanderpump says she thinks Jax Taylor’s “bad behavior” was the reason for his split from Brittany Cartwright after four years of marriage.
The 63-year-old Bravo star, citing numerous infidelity scandals that unfolded on her Bravo series Vanderpump Rules, said that while she wasn’t sure of the cause, she had her suspicions. (He has denied that cheating was the cause of the split.)
“I don’t know what the reason was, but I think it probably had something to do with Jax’s bad behavior,” Vanderpump said. E! News on Monday. “I’m not sure, but the indicator of future behavior is normally past behavior.”
Vanderpump talks to the outlet at the Vanderpump Villa premiere event, ahead of the show’s April 1 debut on Hulu, about the recent separation from its one-time employees.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum said people were initially skeptical of the chances between Taylor and Cartwright, an aspect she could empathize with.

Vanderpump said, “Everyone predicted that when they got married: They said, ‘Oh, this won’t last,’ but I actually didn’t like jumping to conclusions.”
The Vanderpump Rules impresario looked back at the naysayers when she married her husband Ken Todd in 1982.
“I know a lot of people say it’s inevitable, but when I walked down the aisle 42 years ago, everyone shook their heads and said, ‘This was never going to last,’” the English socialite said. ‘Ken is a bad boy in London and 16 years older than me. You go into it completely optimistically.’
The reality star said she thought the news of Taylor and Cartwright’s split was “a shame if they were having a child,” referring to their son Cruz, two.
“Marriage isn’t easy and there are always so many options in Hollywood and there are excuses and their egos involved,” Vanderpump said. “I think almost everyone I know who got married on reality TV is separated, except for Ken and me.”
