She died of a small bowel obstruction caused by a previous weight-loss surgery, during which opioids had been found in her blood at the time of her death.
Elvis Presley's daughter was rushed to hospital on January 12 after suffering cardiac arrest. An LA County Coroner's report revealed that the star died from sequelae (a condition resulting from a previous illness or injury) of a small bowel obstruction.
The intestinal obstruction was in the form of a strangulated small intestine, caused by adhesions that had developed many years earlier after bariatric surgery (gastric stapling).
The toxicology results also show that Lisa had 'therapeutic' levels of Oxycodone in her blood, with a second opioid Buprenorphine – used to treat opioid addiction – also found.
There were also traces of Quetiapine, an antipsychotic, reports TMZ.
The coroner states that no “drug paraphernalia or narcotics” were found at her home and that her urine toxicology screen was negative.
The report confirms that Lisa had cosmetic surgery and was prescribed opioids a few months before her death, with the star having a history of 'over-medicating' – forgetting she had taken her medication and then taking it again.
The reports also state that the star had a “history of alcohol and drug abuse.”
