Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband Michael Lockwood files documents to represent their twins in court

Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband Michael Lockwood has filed documents to represent their daughters in an upcoming court hearing.

Lockwood, 61, wants to represent the interests of twins Harper and Finley, 14, in a hearing that involves Lisa Marie’s multi-million dollar trust, as per TMZ

The guitarist – who was married to the late singer from 2006 until 2021 – is asking a judge to appoint him ‘guardian ad litem’ and grant him the authority to speak on behalf of the girls.

Presley – who suffered a fatal cardiac arrest on January 12 at the age of 54 – had two life insurance policies, one for $25 million and another one for $10 million. The trust has become a major point of contention for the family, including Lisa’s mother Priscilla Presley, 77, and her eldest daughter Riley Keough, 33.

Priscilla was originally a trustee but was removed by the star a few years before her death, and replaced by Riley. The will contains the rights to the Graceland mansion and a 15 percent stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises.

In a 2016 amendment to her will, Lisa Marie removed her mother as her executor and named her two adult children Riley and Benjamin Keough as her only heirs. Lisa shared Riley and Benjamin with first husband Danny Keough, 58. The couple were married from 1988 until 1994.

Benjamin died by suicide in 2020 and left Riley as the sole heir, but Priscilla is now challenging the amendment, which cut her out of the will entirely.

Michael is reportedly aligned with Priscilla on the matter of the trust, which could see them battle it out in court against Riley.

It was also recently reported that Priscilla and Lisa Marie were ‘barely speaking’ prior to the latter’s death after she sided with Lockwood during a bitter custody battle over the twins.

Multiple sources told People that the mother and daughter were not on speaking terms prior to Lisa Marie’s death, despite appearing at multiple events together, including the Elvis biopic.

The former couple battled it out in court until October 2022, and the tension trickled down to Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley.

‘Riley was always on her mom’s side when it came to Michael,’ a source told People. ‘It bothered her that her grandmother and Michael flew to the funeral together.’

Priscilla also helped Michael wedge his way into the ceremony, despite her late daughter’s wishes.

‘Michael was not invited,’ a close friend of Lisa Marie told the magazine. ‘He came to Memphis under the pretense that he had to chaperone the twins – and he forced his way in with Priscilla’s help.

‘The last thing Lisa Marie would have wanted was for Michael to be there.’

During the custody battle in 2019, Lisa Marie filed an amendment to her living trust, making Riley and her late son Benjamin her heirs, and removing Priscilla and her former manager Barry Siegel as co-trustees.

Priscilla filed a petition to question the ‘authenticity and validity’ of the trust after she claimed Lisa Marie’s signature is ‘inconsistent.’ She filed the petition in a Los Angeles court just days after her daughter’s memorial service.

The grandmother of four also claimed she was not aware Lisa Marie had changed the trust in 2016 until after her daughter passed away.

If Priscilla’s petition prevails, she and Riley would be made co-trustees over Lisa Marie’s estate, but neither wants the other’s influence, a source said.

‘Priscilla doesn’t want Riley solely in charge, because then she has no say. Meanwhile, Riley doesn’t want Priscilla to butt in,’ a source told People.

‘It’s a very sad situation. Riley is shocked Priscilla is contesting the amendment,’ another source said. ‘They do not see eye to eye,’ another source said. The pair are set to duke it out in court on April 13.

Michael lost his 2016 bid in their divorce to undo their prenup, but he re-opened the case in 2021.

Before her death, they were understood to have shared custody of their children 50/50, with Michael taking care of them with his new wife, and Lisa Marie paying $4,600 in child support to the guitarist a month.

However, Radar reported that they had recently reached a settlement where she would pay him $6,000 a month.

In a recent court filing, Michel claimed his ongoing legal battle with Lisa Marie over their split had cost him more than a million dollars in legal fees and that he was considering bankruptcy.

He was seeking $40,000 a month in child support and insisted she had more money than she claimed in court documents.

The final settlement was not made public, but days after the agreement, Michael remarried as he tied the knot with Stephanie Hobgood.

Meanwhile the twins – who had been living with their mother at their $4million Calabasas home when she passed – have since been splitting their time between their grandmother Priscilla’s house and their father’s place.
