Lisa Marie, Elvis and Priscilla’s only child together, recalled that something was wrong the morning her father died.

She ran to her father’s room, where she was stopped by the artist’s road manager and friend Joe Esposito.

“Your father is sick,” he told her before she ran into his bathroom, where an unconscious Elvis lay on the floor.

“I tried to run towards him, but someone grabbed me and pulled me back,” she wrote.

Presley was 42 years old and had been using opiates for years.

The mother of four, who gave birth to son Benjamin and twin daughters Finley and Harper alongside Riley, wrote: “There were so many times when I found him on the floor or unable to properly control his body. It was the barbiturates.”

Describing the harrowing scene on her father’s last morning, she wrote: “They stood over him, moving him and trying to work on him.

‘I screamed bloody murder. I knew it wasn’t good. Then I was taken out of the room.’

Paramedics tried to revive him and she wrote: ‘I started screaming that I wanted him, that I needed him, and I started kicking and hitting anyone who stopped me, trying to get away from them, but they wouldn’t let me. to go.’

She confessed that she was glad not to see his face because she thought it would have traumatized her even more.

Left with one parent, Lisa Marie would have a tumultuous relationship with her mother.

And she confessed that she pushed Priscilla to send her to multiple schools and turn to the Church of Scientology because her behavior was unmanageable.

While she was alive, Riley noted that Mom never “got over” the loss of Elvis.

“I was sure she was heartbroken all my life. “I remember being a little bit angry at Elvis for leaving my mother and causing all this pain,” the actress wrote.
