Lisa Marie Presley’s awkward and forced interview with Australian TV presenter Rove McManus resurfaces when Elvis’s daughter dies aged 54.

An uncomfortable television interview with Lisa Marie Presley has resurfaced following her death on Thursday at the age of 54.

The daughter of rock and roll legend Elvis Presley sat down with Australian TV presenter Rove McManus in 2004 to promote her new album, but she gave short, stilted answers and appeared not to understand her questions.

‘Was [recording the album] something you enjoyed doing or something you felt you had to do to get it out?’ McManus asked.

‘Which part? Do you mean as to time? She answered.

‘I know some of the songs on the album, for example, you rewrote them four times. Was it something you were refraining from doing? Because I think the longer you leave it, the more expectations there will be,” McManus said.

“I think it was just the production and I was crazy and neurotic and…anal,” she replied, followed by an awkward pause.

In the video, Presley asks McManus what he's asking before giving very short answers.

Elsewhere in the interview, McManus asked, “Was there ever a plan that you would do something other than sing?”

“No, I started singing when I was two years old,” Presley replied dryly.

Earlier Thursday, Presley was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and was said to be in a coma following “complete cardiac arrest” shortly after she complained of stomach pains, according to TMZ.

Her mother, Priscilla, who was at her daughter’s side, said in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”

“She was the most passionate, strong, loving woman I have ever met. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thanks for the love and prayers. There will be no further comments at this time.

She is also known for her high-profile marriages to actor Nicolas Cage, Michael Jackson, and fellow musicians Danny Keough and Michael Lockwood.
