Lisa Lines extradited to Brisbane to face court for alleged attempted murder of ex-husband Jonathon Hawtin

An ex-Adelaide woman accused of murdering her ex-partner and plotting to kill his mother will be extradited to South Australia after being flown off a Pacific island under police escort.

Lisa Lines, 43, was arrested last week on the tiny island of Palau, where she remained in custody at Koror Prison before landing at Brisbane International Airport on Thursday.

Dr. Lines was charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder over allegations that she tried to have her ex-husband Jonathan Hawtin and his mother Rhonda killed on separate occasions between 2017 and 2022.

Lisa Lines (pictured in Brisbane on Friday) was extradited to Australia from Taiwan to face allegations that she tried to have her ex-husband Jonathan Hawtin and his mother Rhonda killed on several occasions between 2017 and 2022.

It is claimed that Dr.’s former secret lover Lines, Zacharia Josef Bruckner, attacked her ex-husband, Jonathon Hawtin (photo in 2019) with an ax in 2017

It is claimed that Dr. Lines, who has a PhD in history and creative writing, fled to Taiwan in 2020 with the two children she shares with Mr Hawtin because the country does not have an extradition treaty with Australia.

After spending the night in the Brisbane watchhouse, Dr Lines was not required to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court when her case was briefly discussed on Friday morning.

Queensland Police prosecutor Sergeant Matt Kahler told the court he had received extradition papers from his South Australian counterparts.

The duty lawyer, representing Dr Lines, told the court on Friday that she had spoken to her client, who had accepted that it was her name on the extradition warrant.

The extradition was granted with consent and Dr. Lines is expected to be returned to South Australia to appear in court on Monday.

The co-accused and alleged former secret lover of Dr. Lines, Zacharia Josef Bruckner, was also extradited from Brisbane to South Australia last week.

He faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday charged over the alleged attempted murder of Mr Hawtin in the Adelaide Hills in 2017.

It is alleged that Mr Bruckner repeatedly struck Mr Hawtin on the neck and head with an axe, leaving him paralyzed in all four limbs and confined to a wheelchair.

Mr. Bruckner is also accused of conspiring to kill Mr. Hawtin and his mother, Rhonda Hawtin.

The lawyer on duty, who is Dr. Representing Lines (pictured right on Friday), told the court on Friday that she had spoken to her client, who had accepted that it was her name on the extradition warrant.
