Lisa Barlow reveals her 19-year-old son Jack has been hospitalized during his Mormon mission to Columbia: ‘It’s killing me not being there’

Lisa Barlow revealed that her 19-year-old son Jack was hospitalized during his two-year Mormon mission to Columbia.

“I miss Jack every day – he's been in the hospital for three days and it hurts me that I'm not here,” the 49-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star – who has 477,000 social media followers – tweeted on Tuesday.

When Twitter user @erel124 asked exactly why Jack was in the hospital, Lisa said replied: 'They're figuring it out.'

Barlow said they would know more soon and reassured concerned fans that 'he will be' [okay]' but that it is 'hard to be so far away'.

The Clorox paid affiliate generally can 'Only talk to him once a week on Monday' and they reassured Twitter user @messyboots2B said those conversations are “private” and that if he “wanted to come home tomorrow, he could.”

“In general, family and friends are not allowed to visit you during your mission,” the letter said Missionary Standards Manual.

“Under special circumstances, however, your mission president may approve an exception.”

After graduating from Corner Canyon High School in Utah on May 25, Jack decided to postpone college. He has been in Columbia since August 2, volunteering and preaching from the Book of Mormon.

On the November 28 episode of RHOSLC, Lisa said, “This mission for Jack is so personal” and “he's going for the right reasons.”

“He's going because he felt strongly that this was the right decision for him. He had everything at his fingertips,” Barlow explained.

“He could be doing something else in the world, but he chose to go out and connect with people, share a message of love and kindness and teach people about God.

“The moment he wakes up, until the moment he goes to bed, he is going to serve others, and as a mother, I couldn't be more proud of him.”

The LUXE Marketing owner and her husband John Barlow – both graduates of Brigham Young University – are also proud parents of 12-year-old son Henry.
