England Lionesses goalkeeper Khiara Keating is due to appear in court on Tuesday on suspicion of possession of laughing gas, also known as ‘hippie crack’, according to reports.

The 20-year-old was arrested last month after she was allegedly caught with the Class C drug during an incident following investigation in June.

Keating will appear before Manchester and Salford District Court after being charged with possession of the substance and could face a range of sanctions ranging in severity if found guilty, it said. The mirror.

The Greater Manchester Police investigation revealed that she was stopped by police last month just before joining the England national team.

Persons who possess laughing gas for the first time with the intention of inhaling it can be punished with an unlimited fine, community service or a warning from the police. Repeat offenders can be punished with a prison sentence.

A statement from Greater Manchester Police confirmed that Keating will appear in court on her drug possession charge. The statement read: ‘Khiara Keating (27/06/2004) of Manchester has been charged with possession of a class C drug (laughing gas).

She will appear at Manchester and Salford Crown Court on Tuesday, July 23.
