Inter Miami appear to confirm Lionel Messi’s arrival for July 16, with the club teasing a ‘big reveal event’ for reporters that night.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s welcome is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will include “exciting entertainment, on-pitch speeches and more,” according to the club.
Messi is likely to be unveiled alongside former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets, who has also agreed to join Miami.
The club is also close to finalizing a deal for longtime Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba, with the acquisition of the 34-year-old essentially a foregone conclusion, according to the Miami announces.
And Miami may not be done adding big names to its roster just yet, with the club reportedly trying to convince Eden Hazard to join as well, according to Relev.

Since Messi announced his intentions to move to Miami last month, things have been pretty quiet at the club.
Owner Jorge Mas confirmed that the club hoped the playmaker would make his debut against Mexican side Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup on July 21.
Miami also wished him a happy 36th birthday late last month.
However, there is yet to be an official announcement about his imminent arrival.
Even with Messi not yet in the United States, the hype around his arrival is palpable.
In the 24 hours following its decision to join Major League Soccer, Inter Miami gained more than 5 million Instagram followers – from about 1 million to 6.1 million.

And in New York, more than 1,000 miles from Messi’s new Florida home, the windows of Adidas’ flagship SoHo store are lined with mock-ups of the Argentine star.
In photos taken by DailyMail.com, the sportswear giant’s Broadway location is covered in photos of Messi wearing his new Inter Miami strip.
While Miami will be delighted to welcome Messi and Busquets, they will nevertheless have to put up a huge battle to make it to the postseason at all.
Through 20 games, the club has just 17 points – the worst mark in the Eastern Conference, which currently leaves them nine points adrift of the final playoff spot.
Assuming he makes his debut when expected, Messi has just 12 MLS games to turn Miami’s season around.
With the help of Busquets, newly appointed head coach Tata Martino and probably Alba as well, you certainly wouldn’t leave him out of the season.
