Lionel Messi has revealed which player Barcelona star Lamine Yamal reminds him of.
Despite being only 17 years old, Yamal has already achieved many successes, including winning the 2024 European Championship with Spain and regularly excelling for Barcelona.
Messi was full of praise for Yamal, who appears unfazed by facing more experienced opponents.

So far this season, Yamal has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 15 LaLiga games for Barcelona.
Barcelona currently sit at the top of LaLiga, two points ahead of Real Madrid, despite having played a game more.

Messi revealed that Yamal reminds him of himself when he was little.
As reported by ESPNMessi said: “There is a very good generation of young footballers who have many years ahead of them.
‘If I have to choose someone, because of the age and because of the future he has, I heard that they chose Lamine Yamal and without a doubt [it’s him] for me too.
“I agree that it depends on him and many things because that’s how football is, but he is the present and without a doubt he has a great future.”
Yamal still has a long way to go if he wants to enjoy a similar career to Messi, who scored an impressive 672 goals in 778 games for Barcelona.
However, the impact Yamal has made at such a young age is extremely impressive.

If he continues to make progress and avoids serious injuries, Yamal could have an excellent career.
Messi expressed his wish for Barcelona to win more silverware and at least compete strongly for trophies.
He said: ‘I would like to see Barça win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and also the Champions League. And in the years that they don’t, at least it competes until the last moment.’
