Lionel Messi has returned to team training ahead of Inter Miami’s match against FC Cincinnati.

The Argentine forward has missed his club’s last four games in all competitions due to a muscle injury, including a 4-1 thrashing of the Chicago Fire on Wednesday.

The club’s Instagram account later posted a match photo of number 10 with the caption: ‘See you tomorrow.’

Messi had previously only been seen training for the match in Chicago.

The club has drawn twice and lost twice – including in the final of the US Open Cup – since the Argentinian won 4-0 vs. left Toronto.

However, he was apparently healthy enough to be called up to Argentina’s latest squad, with La Albiceleste including him in their squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers on Thursday.

Miami is still alive for a playoff spot, but the club’s chances of making the postseason are slim.

The Herons are five points behind the postseason with just three games to play, while Miami has 33 points and ninth-place Montreal has 38.

Since leading the club to its first-ever Leagues Cup trophy, Messi has barely played for Miami in the MLS.

He played just four league matches due to injury and his place in Argentina’s squad for last month’s World Cup qualifiers.

However, on Thursday he was still nominated for the MLS MVP.
