Lionel Messi is the star of a new mural in Buenos Aires less than a week after lifting the World Cup with Argentina.
The Argentines beat France on penalties last Sunday to win their first World Cup in 36 years, and it didn’t take long for artist Maximiliano Bagnasco to capture the moment.
Done in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, the mural shows Messi front and center lifting the trophy during post-match celebrations with goalkeeper Emi Martinez behind him.

Several other murals of Messi had been seen in Argentina during the tournament.
Bagnasco said he started the mural shortly after the conclusion of the final, where Messi scored twice and then converted his penalty in the shootout.
