Lionel Messi has scared Inter Miami and Argentina fans after he was spotted leaving a medical center in his home country.

The football superstar, who has been in incredible form since arriving in MLS earlier this summer, played for Argentina in their 1-0 win against Ecuador on Thursday and scored a brilliant free-kick to seal the win.

He was substituted in the 89th minute and it was later confirmed by coach Lionel Scaloni that he ‘felt something’ and asked to be removed.

Messi has since undergone medical tests as a precaution and was seen leaving the IMAXE medical center on Saturday as hundreds of fans clamored for a glimpse of him outside the facilities.

The Inter Miami man smiled and waved at the fans and did not appear to be limping, but his presence at the medical center will cause concern for fans of both his club and his country.

At Inter Miami specifically, the team is fighting to reach the MLS Cup Playoffs, and also has the prospect of a second cup final later this month.

To date, Messi has played three regular season MLS matches, scoring once and providing two assists, while his main contribution came from an incredible Leagues Cup run.

In seven games, the ex-Barcelona and PSG superstar scored an impressive 10 goals, taking his team from the group stage all the way to the trophy, beating Orlando, Dallas, Charlotte, Philadelphia and Nashville along the way.

His presence has also knocked them out of the bottom spot in MLS’s Eastern Conference, with the team now eight points out of a play-off berth with nine games left to play.

They face Sporting Kansas City tonight without their main man, but fans will be desperate for his return next weekend when they face a tough trip to 2018 champions Atlanta.
