Lionel Messi is REJECTED by PSG boss Christophe Galtier as he appoints Kylian Mbappe as his new vice-captain amid uncertainty over the Argentine’s future in the French capital… as ex-MP Presnel Kimpembe reveals he was kept in the darkness over his degradation.

  • The head coach insisted that he made his decision at the beginning of the season.
  • However, former MP Presnel Kimpembe said he had never been informed

Kylian Mbappé, and not Lionel Messi, has been named Paris Saint-Germain vice-captain as the Argentine’s time in Ligue 1 remains in question.

The public announcement of the decision comes as Messi is reportedly considering a future away from the French capital.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier told the media following the club’s 7-0 win over sixth division Pays de Cassel on Monday night that it was a decision made before the start of the season.

Lionel Messi is reportedly weighing his options with his contract expiring in the summer.

Mbappé, who scored five in the PSG procession, was praised by Galtier while explaining the play.

“I decided that he is the second captain since the beginning of the season, he deserves to have this bracelet when Marquinhos is not there because he has decided to stay,” he said about Mbappé.

‘He scored 56 goals in the calendar year. He is one of the world-class forwards, one of the best in the world. He is like that.

“He is formed to score goals, he did not abuse, the goals came naturally after the combinations.”

Messi’s future at the Parc des Princes has been the subject of much discussion since the World Cup, with the Argentina captain reportedly weighing various options, including joining rival Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

While Galtier claimed his decision was made months ago, it appears to be news for former vice-captain and defender Presnel Kimpembe.

The Frenchman took to Instagram, writing on his story: “In the last few hours I’ve been able to hear and read a lot about myself.”

PSG boss Christophe Galtier announced that the call was made at the start of the season.

Therefore, I want to set the record straight to prevent further spreading of false information about it.

“I was not aware of this decision, this is completely false… Having said that, I will always respect the decisions of the club.”

Brazilian defender Marquinhos continues to captain the French giants, who sit three points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
