Lionel Messi is bringing his £185m property empire to the Spanish stock market

Lionel Messi has listed his property empire on the Spanish stock market with a value of £185 million.

The Argentine footballer is appointed chairman of his Edificio Rostower Socimi group.

His wife Antonela Roccuzzo is vice-chairman of the board. The real estate investment trust owns seven hotels in Spain and Andorra, three office spaces and apartments in Spain, London and Paris.

The shares were listed at €57.40 on the Portfolio Stock Exchange, an alternative market supervised by the Bank of Spain.

Messi’s company, founded in 2013, posted a loss of £1.4 billion in 2023. Most of the investment is in the Spanish region of Catalonia, where 37-year-old Messi moved to Barcelona’s academy in 2000, when he was 13.

Messi lived there until 2021, when he left for Paris Saint-Germain after Barcelona could not afford him.

He now plays for American side Inter Miami, which is owned by David Beckham.
