A field invader also tried to hug Lionel Messi during Inter Miami’s victory on Sunday evening

The fan, wearing a Barcelona jersey, successfully reached out to the attacker and even managed to wrap his arms around him in an attempt to hug the football superstar.

However, the supporter was quickly pried away from Messi by his bodyguard, who had sprinted onto the pitch to protect his client.

The fan was then passed to stadium security.

In the end, Messi was not distracted by the incident as he added his second assist of the evening to Leo Campana in the 83rd minute.
