Lionel Messi and stunning wife Antonela relax with Luis Suarez and family on Miami boat trip after Copa America victory and ankle injury

Lionel Messi and his beautiful wife Antonela Roccuzzo enjoyed a boat trip in Miami with Luis Suarez and his family last weekend.

Messi, who is out indefinitely after injuring his ankle ligaments in last weekend’s Copa América final, wore protective boots on the boat as he continues to recover from the injury.

Still, it didn’t stop the Argentina captain from enjoying a day at sea on Sunday with Roccuzzo, Suarez and the family of his Inter Miami teammate.

Antonela shared a series of photos from the boat trip on Instagram, which also feature Suarez’s wife Sofia and sister-in-law Mariana and her partner.

Suarez made his comeback with Miami last week after taking Uruguay to the Copa America, where Uruguay lost 1-0 to Colombia in the semi-finals.

Messi and Argentina held out until the end, eventually winning against Colombia in the final thanks to Lautaro Martinez’s winning goal in extra time.

However, Messi was sent off in the second half of regular time after suffering a nasty ankle injury.

The 37-year-old player went down in the 64th minute and required long-term treatment. He immediately looked at the Argentine bench and left the field with tears in his eyes from the pain.

He did not go home with his teammates, who returned to an exuberant Buenos Aires, where fans flooded the streets to celebrate the goal wildly.

Messi said on Instagram that he was “fine” and thanked fans for their support.

“The Copa America is over and the first thing I want to do is thank everyone for all the messages and greetings,” he said in a statement.

“I’m fine, thank God, and I hope I can be back on the pitch soon and enjoy what I love most. I’m happy, very happy, especially because we achieved the goal we had and Fide (Angel Di Maria) leaves us, but with another cup.”

Ahead of their win over Chicago Fire on Saturday, Messi limped onto the pitch in his protective boot as Inter Miami celebrated their 45th major Copa America title.

Those 45 victories of course included delivering the first trophy in Miami’s history last year, when he inspired them to Leagues Cup glory.

He received a loud applause from the crowd at Chase Stadium, where many spectators had hoped to see him show off his skills on the field rather than hobbling around in his boots.

Messi will be out, but Suarez is likely to return to action for Miami in Saturday’s Leagues Cup season opener against Puebla.
