Linn Grant accidentally hits spectator on the head with her golf ball at the AIG Women’s Open
Swedish golfer Linn Grant accidentally hit a spectator on the head with her golf ball at the AIG Women’s Open, according to reports.
The 24-year-old had just started her final round at Walton Heath with a par-4 tee off the first hole and played her first tee shot down the right side of the fairway.
Grant then hit an approach shot with her seven iron that went wide, unintentionally hitting the spectator in the head.
aftonbladet reports that the gentleman, who was standing in the crowd at the time, ‘began to bleed profusely’ as paramedics were called to the scene before wrapping the man’s head in bandages.
Other patrons were pictured gathering around the onlooker, who was reportedly “helped to his feet after about ten minutes and driven off in a golf cart.”

The gentleman received medical attention at the scene and Grant stopped to make sure he was okay
Grant stopped to see how the gentleman was doing before she had to move on and play the rest of the hole.
The Swedish outlet states that the man “thumbs up” as he was driven away and also spoke to the onlooker’s son.
Speaking of his father, he told Aftonbladet, “He seems to be fine, but now we just hope he’s okay.”
Grant got into the final round of the tournament after moving up to sixth in the standings on Saturday night.

She started the tournament by carding a one-over par round of 73 on Thursday before finishing on Friday with an impressive three-under 69.
The 24-year-old, who is currently 19th in the Rolex Ranking, took it one step further on Saturday, hitting six birdies and two birdies to put her within reach to claim the top of the leaderboard, with an impressive four- under 68 for her third round.
She made par on the first hole of her final round, before bogeying on the second and bogeys on the fifth, sixth, and seventh holes.
Grant, who turned pro in 2021, earned her first title on the LPGA Tour in July at the Dana Open.
She ended her weekend with a final round of 76, placing T11 in the standings at two under par, 12 shots behind champion Lilia Vu.
