Lindsey Graham fires David Pecker who pays to kill negative stories

Senator Lindsey Graham predicted that the Supreme Court will send Donald Trump’s presidential immunity case back to the lower courts.

The South Carolina Republican said there is no “absolute immunity” outlined in the Constitution, but thinks the ASe will result in Trump gaining “some immunity” for actions he took while president and for which he is now being prosecuted.

In addition, Graham rejected testimony from former US media CEO David Pecker that Trump paid to kill bad stories about him ahead of the 2016 election, claiming that famous people often use this tactic.

David Pecker, who ran the parent company of The National Enquirer, testified that he paid for catch-and-kill stories about Trump specifically to help his presidential campaign. “Apparently a lot of people do this, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods,” the senator listed, naming the actor, bodybuilder and former governor of California as well as the infamous golf pro. respectively.

“I think the whole thing is nonsense,” the Trump ally said of the lawsuit. “The statute of limitations has long excluded misdemeanor cases. So this liberal prosecutor in Manhattan came up with a federal campaign violation. I think it’s a political blow to Trump, six months before the election. That’s what I think,” he added.

The case in Manhattan Criminal Court relates to Trump’s falsification of company records to make payments to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet ahead of the 2016 election about her alleged extramarital affair with Trump a decade earlier.

Trump has appeared in court in New York City for the past two weeks during jury selection and the start of testimony in the case, including questioning Pecker.

During his testimony last week, Pecker said he paid former Playboy model Karen McDougal for her story about an affair with Trump and then killed him because it would have hurt his chances of winning the election against Hillary Clinton.

Bash, host of CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday morning, asked Graham if he was concerned about this, which he dismissed. “Okay, it’s clear that Tiger Woods is not running for president,” she countered. ‘Yes. No, I get it. Yeah, I think it’s all BS. Yeah, I think it’s all BS, yeah, political BS,” the senator said.
