Lindsay Lohan receives Ann-Margret’s blessing to play her in biopic she’s deemed to be her dream role… as actress continues career resurgence
As she looks to continue her ongoing Hollywood comeback, Lindsay Lohan has her heart and mind firmly focused on playing two-time Oscar nominee Ann-Margret.
After sharing her passion to play her dream role, the former child star and fellow redhead has reportedly received Ann-Margret’s blessing to play her in a biopic, according to We weekly.
As part of that blessing, Lohan will meet the famed actress and singer, who was once billed as a female version of Elvis Presley, and spend time together in preparation for the upcoming film.
Lohan, 37, first revealed her interest in playing the Bye Bye Birdie (1963) star a few months ago in an interview with Rushwhich also revealed that a recent search has been underway for the ‘right writer’ for the screenplay.
“She’s a triple threat, and on top of that, she’s an amazing woman,” the Parent Trap star explained to the outlet. “So I just really want to do her justice and help tell a great story for her.”

In 1961, Margret (born Ann-Margret Olsson), now 83, filmed a screen test at 20th Century Fox and signed a seven-year contract soon after.
But she would eventually make her debut for United Artists in Frank Capra’s Pocketful Of Miracles alongside screen queen Bette Davis (1961) after arranging a lease between the two studios.
Her performance as the all-American teenager in the musical romantic comedy Bye Bye Birdie (1963) would ultimately become a breakthrough role that would propel her to major star status.
Even starring opposite Elvis Presley in the rock ‘n’ roll musical film Viva Las Vegas (1964), Lohan recently revealed that the crime drama Kitten With A Whip (1964) is her favorite of all Margret’s roles during her long career .
“This girl who escapes from a mental institution and breaks into the house of this guy who’s running for senator,” Lohan described Douglas Heyes’ production, which also stars John Forsythe, Peter Brown, Patricia Barry and Richard Anderson.
She added: ‘She starts inviting all her friends over and tells him she’s not leaving and basically holds him hostage in his own house.’
And while she has expressed her love for stars like Marilyn Monroe and Clara Bow, the Mean Girls actress admitted, “I’m more Ann-Margret.”

The hope is that Anne-Margret’s biopic can “take her career to the next level.”
First in her comeback, which comes after falling from Hollywood’s grace following her wild childhood antics, she starred in the Christmas romantic comedy Falling For Christmas (2022), directed by Janeen Damian, who worked from a screenplay by Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver.
She has since starred in another Damian production, the romantic fantasy comedy Irish Wish, which, like Falling For Christmas, is part of Lohan’s creative partnership with Netflix.
Her third film for the streaming service, the romantic comedy Our Little Secret, will be released later this year.
After years of talk about a sequel, Lohan’s next role will see her reprise her role as Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday 2 with Jamie Lee Curtis, the actress confirmed during an appearance on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy in March.

“Harper is in a bit of a mood these days because her elderly single mother is about to marry British restaurateur Eric Davies,” the description read.
As part of her recent career resurgence, the New York City native has starred in three films for Netflix since 2022, including Irish Wish which was released in March.
Lohan would next star in the highly anticipated sequel to Freaky Friday, with Jamie Lee Curtis also returning to reprise their roles from the hit 2003 reboot.
“If that’s not bad enough, Eric comes with his own 14-year-old daughter, Sharp-Tongued Lily. Harper and Lily disagree. Harper would like to see things go her way and use her intelligence to prevent this marriage.”
Basically, the synopsis reveals that both Anna and her mother, Tess (Curtis), switch bodies with teenage girls Harper and Lily.
As she continues to revive her career, Lohan now also has the support and responsibility of a family after welcoming son Luai with husband Bader Shammas in July 2023.
