Kate Moss’ friend ended with, “With our love and thanks, Linda and Steven #lindabystevenbook.”
Linda was a modeling queen in the 90’s when she worked for Versace, Fendi and Valentino.
Her contemporaries were Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell.
The synopsis for her new book reads: ‘Legendary photographer Steven Meisel’s photographs of Linda Evangelista, one of the original ‘supermodels’ of the 1980s, are evident from their first photo shoot in 1987 and are the result of a remarkable creative symbiosis between photographer and muse.
This highly anticipated book, featuring more than 180 photographs taken over the course of twenty-five years, chronicles Meisel’s ever-evolving vision of Evangelista, depicted in a wide variety of imaginative narrative contexts.

Two good ones: ‘We’ve been making images together since we first met in 1987. The book is directed by Jason Duzansky and features an introduction by fashion editor William Norwich, who tells the story of their friendship and sets it in the wider context of the fashion industry.
‘With beautiful reproductions and packaged in a luxurious fabric case, this special title is Meisel’s first retrospective monograph. It celebrates a collaboration that has produced some of the most memorable images in fashion history.”
Evangelista recently revealed that she gained weight due to a failed procedure.
In 2021, she claimed she was “brutally disfigured” from the rare side effects of a cosmetic procedure she underwent many years ago, as she explained her absence from the spotlight on Instagram.
The supermodel took a tentative step back into the public eye when she blamed her “withdrawn” behavior on a disfiguring procedure.
In a statement posted on social media, the icon claimed she was “permanently disfigured” due to a rare side effect of the fat-cutting procedure.

According to Linda, she had undergone a CoolSculpting procedure to “reduce” her fat cells, but instead the procedure “increased” her fat cells, a danger she insists she was not warned about, which is why she is now seeking legal action.
She has developed paradoxical fat hyperplasia – a rare, previously unreported side effect of cryolipolysis, which has been reported in 0.0051% of the 1.5 million CoolSculpting procedures performed worldwide.
With this condition, the treated area grows rather than shrinks in the weeks following the procedure. It can leave a “painless, visibly enlarged, firm, well-demarcated mass” under the skin.
Linda’s statement read: ‘Today I have taken a big step towards righting a wrong I suffered and kept to myself for over five years. To my followers who have wondered why I didn’t work while my colleagues’ careers were thriving, the reason is that I was brutally disfigured by Zeltiq’s CoolSculpting procedure…
‘[It] did the opposite of what it promised. It increased, not decreased, my fat cells and left me permanently disfigured, even after undergoing two painful, botched corrective surgeries. I was left, as the media described, “unrecognizable.”

The model claimed she was not properly warned about the possible side effects of the CoolSculpting procedure. She continued, “I have developed Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia or PAH, a risk I was not aware of before undergoing the procedures…
“PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, deep sadness, and the deepest depths of self-loathing. In the meantime I have become a hermit…
In 2022, as a teenager, Evangelista fell victim to a predatory modeling agency.
The model was only 16 when she was offered a summer modeling contract by a Japanese agency, but they tried to force her to take nude photos and she quickly left.
Linda told British Vogue’s September issue, “I arrived and no one was there to pick me up. I was so lost and I obviously didn’t have a cell phone. I went to the desk and it was all ‘take your clothes off, we need your measurements’ but they already had my measurements.
“They wanted me naked and it wasn’t a ‘would you do nudes’ conversation, it was a ‘you’re going to do nudes’. I left and called my mother and she said, ‘Now go away and go to the embassy.’ So that’s what I did, and they brought me home.’
Linda’s career started in 1990 and she became one of the most famous supermodels in the world, with more than 60 magazine covers.
She was a classic: the star as a blonde for a Versace show in Paris in the 1990s
The fashionista admitted that she didn’t always take care of herself while trying to keep up with the hectic lifestyle, but she says she never took drugs because she was “terrified” of them.
She said, ‘How did I last? This is the truth: I was young. You could go out and eat fried food and drink champagne, sleep at 3am and get up at 5am. I was offered drugs but I never touched them, I’m not saying I was an angel… but I was terrified of drugs.’
And Linda soon learned how to stand up for herself when it came to getting paid.
She said, “I had the strength to endure. That’s what it all came down to. But I also thought about different industries. Athletes are not all paid the same – some are paid more for what they bring to the game. It wasn’t a matter of thinking I was better…but I knew my worth.”
