A Chanel dress worn by Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose to a Met Gala has sold for more than $80,000 at auction.
The 24-year-old famously wore the black silk crepe dress to the 2019 Met Gala, due to the Camp: Notes on Fashion theme.
The dress is embellished with a jeweled chain and the central jewel connecting the chains features the French fashion house’s ‘CC’ logo.
It was one of 252 dresses from the fashion house that went under the hammer.

The black dress was released for Chanel’s spring-summer 1992 collection and took 100 hours to make.
Penelope Cruz wore an identical version of the dress in the 2009 Almodovar film ‘Broken Embraces’.
The couture dress was expected to fetch more than $13,000, but ultimately sold for a whopping $82,500.
The auction, which took place in Paris, featured many high-fashion pieces by the late designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Lagerfeld, who died in 2019, designed the garments between 1990 and 2014.
Many of the pieces belonged to French entrepreneur and socialite Mouna Ayoub.
The most expensive item sold was a ‘Coromandel’ evening coat from the Fall 1996 collection, which fetched an eye-watering $340,000.
The jacket, which features intricate embroidery and stitching, took more than 800 hours to complete.
