Lily James Lines Up For Solo Music Career As Naughty Boy Says He’s ‘Amazed’ With Actress

She sang in the Mamma Mia sequel and could play a tune better than most men.

And now, Lily James is set to launch a solo music career, with producer Naughty Boy admitting he was “shocked by her acting chops”.

The composer, real name Shahid Khan, 42, He recently worked with the actress in the studio for her latest film, What’s Love Got To Do With It?.

Speaking to The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, he discussed his experience working with Lily, 33, on the track she recorded for the new rom-com.

Naughty Boy said: ‘Lily James can really sing. I was surprised at how comfortable she was in the studio performing.’

He continued: ‘People will be quite receptive to her as a singer, and she’s not averse to that. She would let her choose which sound she wants to choose.

“Just between us, I think there will be a Lily James and Naughty Boy project in the works.”

Lily, who plays the lead Zoe in the movie, also appears as a guest vocalist on a new track from the new movie.

The actress recently said it was an “absolute pleasure” to go into the recording studio with record producer Naughty Boy.

The song Mahi Sona (The Wedding Song) written by producer and actress Preeya Kalidas especially for the film will be available in three versions that are already available.

The former features Lily alongside legendary Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, superstar Indian singer Kanika Kapoor, and rapper Billy Khan. Another with Brit Award nominee Joy Crookes and the third without feature films.

Lily, who plays Zoe in the film, said: “It was an absolute pleasure working on the studio with both of them.” [composer] nitin [Sawhney] and naughty boy. Music plays a huge role in the film, and I’m delighted to be contributing to this amazing single along with some incredible artists.

Lily has shown off her impressive voice in the past in Mama Mia 2: Here We Go Again, as well as in Cinderella.

The film follows her character, a documentary filmmaker named Zoe, who navigates the modern dating scene with little success, much to the dismay of her mother Cath (Oscar winner Emma Thompson).

Meanwhile, Kazim (Shazad Latif), Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbor, decides to follow in his parents’ footsteps and seek an arranged marriage with a beautiful and intelligent bride from Pakistan.

As Zoe documents Kazim’s journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger chosen by her parents, she begins to wonder if the traditional approach to finding love might have something to offer.

Speaking about his involvement with the Naughty Boy project, he said: ‘My parents are Pakistani, I was born here, I spent a lot of my teenage years thinking about having an arranged marriage.’

“Coming from the same background as Kaz, I wanted to do the track justice. The film has this fusion of Pakistani and English culture that was exciting.”

What does love have to do with it? was written and produced by British filmmaker Jemima Khan, and is largely inspired by her life and experiences in Pakistan, where she lived for ten years with her then-husband, cricket legend and former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. .

The film is directed by Shekhar Kapur, a fellow Pakistani filmmaker, known for the epic Elizabeth and its sequel.
