Lily Allen reveals she’s auditioning for US drama school after her West End debut and admits she’s enjoying the ‘anonymity’ of living in the US with husband David Harbor

Lily Allen has revealed she is preparing to go to drama school after the success of her performances in West End’s Ghost Story 2.22 and The Pillowman.

The actress and singer, 38, recently flew across the pond to start a new life with her husband David Harbor and two daughters Ethel, 10, and Marnie, 11, whom she shares with ex Sam Cooper.

And now Lily has opened up about what life has been like since living in her Brooklyn townhouse in the United States.

Speaking on the Who Are You Dressing For? podcast with stylist and model Kyle De’Volle, Lily said: ‘I’ve got an audition at an acting school in New York, so I’m hoping I can study for a while.

‘The idea of going to drama school excites me.’

Lily continued about the big move and how she’s finding life in the big apple, adding: ‘I’ve really enjoyed it.

‘I enjoy the anonymity I have there, I like that for my children. I’m a mother, I make packed lunches, I take them to school.

“Then I might write for a few hours, read some scripts, go to the gym, and then I pick up the kids and make them dinner, and that’s my existence. I really enjoy it.

‘Sometimes my ego needs to be stroked, so I jump on a plane and come home to London for a few weeks – then I say, ‘I’m bored now’ and come home.’

Lily recently put on a public display of unity at a basketball game in New York on Thursday after being plagued by rumors that their marriage is in crisis.

The couple were pictured for the first time since questions arose about their relationship when Lily unfollowed the Stranger Things actor on social media.

But Lily and David looked like they enjoyed spending some quality time together as they sat courtside and watched the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the New York Knicks.

Speculation increased further when Lily had not been pictured with the Netflix star in recent days and David attended Thom Browne’s 20th anniversary dinner alone on Monday.

However, the couple seemingly brushed aside speculation about their wedding as they enjoyed some time off from parenting duties to watch the match.

To add to the confusion, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary a week before Lily unfollowed.

Lily shared a photo from their wedding day on Instagram, which is still on her roster.

She captioned it: “3 years with this man, the second best decision I ever made. The first was that dress.”

The low-key ceremony was led by Elvis Presley impersonator and chapel co-owner Brendan Paul.

The couple were first linked in January 2019 when they attended the BAFTA Tea Party together.
