‘And there were also times during that period when things weren’t going well for me.’

She added: ‘We broke up and I wrote this long letter to say how sad I was about the situation and that there was a big Elton-shaped hole in my life.

“And over the next few years, as my life started to kind of spiral out of control, I felt a lot of resentment about the fact that I had made myself very vulnerable in this letter and told him all about my sobriety, and that I was quite angry was on him. for a few years.’
