Lily Allen felt ‘triggered’ by thoughts of husband David Harbour being in New York with another woman after ‘soul-destroying’ decision to sell her Cotswolds dream home
Lily Allen has visited an £8,000-a-week trauma treatment center following her divorce after feeling ‘triggered’ by the thought of her husband David Harbor being in New York with another woman.
The singer, 39, reconsidered her relationship with the Stranger Things star in December after discovering he was using celebrity dating app Raya.
And now it’s been revealed she’s struggling with being in the city she called home with the star amid the split.
A source told The Mail on Sunday that Lily’s mental health deteriorated significantly after she returned from holiday to her marital home in New York last week.
They explained: ‘It was very painful for Lily to return home. David used to be her savior and now he is a trigger for her.
‘Lily brought her children back to the family home and took them to school for their new semester, then flew straight to rehab. She went a day earlier than intended because she was feeling shaky and desperate to escape.”

The English singer-songwriter chose to move to Brooklyn with her children Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 13, after tying the knot with David in Las Vegas in 2020.
However, Lily had previously given up her dream home in the Cotwolds in a decision she later described as ‘soul destroying’.
The star was forced to sell her £4.2 million country house in 2016 to pay off a large tax bill after being sued by her former tour manager.
Lily, who was married to her first husband Sam Cooper at the time, revealed last year that she still hopes the house will come back on the market to buy again.
Speaking on her podcast Miss Me? she confessed, “I had a beautiful house, my dream house in the countryside.
‘I had so much fun doing it, it was like my life project, I was very proud of it, it was the place where I was going to raise my children.’
Explaining how to sell it, she continued, “It was absolutely soul-destroying and a real life lesson. You may think you have everything in order, but that is absolutely not the case.
‘You know, a sad story, if that’s not sad enough, is that I still check the housing market every day to see if that house is for sale again. I’d like to have that house back.’

After Lily checked into a trauma center earlier this week, David was spotted in New York City with Scarlett Johansson.
The pair have been close friends since appearing together in the 2021 film Black Widow. He was also pictured smoking a cigar.
A source told The Mail On Sunday: ‘As David strolled around New York, smoking cigars and looking carefree, you can only imagine how Lily felt. Her heartbreak was compounded by being close to him in Brooklyn.”
Lily will spend several weeks at the residential retreat in the US, where she is expected to take part in intensive group counseling sessions and one-on-one therapy in which she will be urged to ‘unpack’ her emotions.
Cocooned from the outside world – having handed in her mobile phone – she will also be encouraged to eat healthy and take walks in the countryside.
On Sunday, David was also spotted in the crowd during the Milwaukee Bucks vs. New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Gardens.
Lily seemed far from his thoughts as he smiled and posed with a thumbs up while sitting next to fellow actor Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor.
The latest chapter in the star’s often troubled life has left her close friends dismayed, but they hope she is now ‘on the road to recovery’.

In last week’s podcast the star heartbreakingly admitting that she can’t focus on anything but the overwhelming pain she feels amid the breakup.
The British singer, 39, bared her soul during her latest Miss Me? podcast episode, which she co-hosts with girlfriend Miquita Oliver, while confirming their divorce.
The mother-of-two describes the months of pain she endured while suffering from panic attacks and a lack of focus.
Lily explained how she had tried to attend the podcast’s Christmas lunch but had to leave after suffering a seizure.
She told listeners: “I know I’ve been talking about it for months, but I’ve gone into a spiral. It’s gotten out of hand, I tried.
‘I came to the Miss Me? Christmas lunch and had a panic attack and had to go home and I went to see something at the theater the other day with my friends Carla and Claire and had to leave around half time.
‘I can’t focus on anything but the pain I’m going through. It’s really hard.’
