Lily Allen breaks down as she confirms split from husband David Harbour in new interview as she details her fragile state of mind and confirms break from showbiz

Lily Allen has confirmed her split from husband David Harbor in a new podcast in which she detailed her fragile state of mind during a ‘difficult period’.

The singer, 39, who co-hosts the Miss me? podcast with Miquita Oliver, opened up about her personal struggles and revealed she “spiraled.”

The media has been flooded with reports that the couple have gone their separate ways after Lily caught her husband on celebrity dating app Raya.

And the star seemingly confirmed reports of their breakup during a new episode released on Thursday, as she admitted she “wasn’t in a good place.”

Recalling a story involving David, Lily heartbreakingly stumbled over the word “husband” when she said she was on holiday in Kenya with the actor, 49, last year.

Lily, who is now taking a three-week break from the show, says she suffers from panic attacks and is ‘unable to concentrate on anything other than her pain’.

She bared her soul on the podcast, saying: ‘I’m finding it hard to be interested in anything, I’m really not in a good place.

‘I know I’ve been talking about it for months, but I’ve gone into a spiral. It’s gotten out of hand, I tried.

‘I came to the Miss Me? Christmas lunch and had a panic attack and had to go home and I went to see something at the theater with my friends the other day and I had to leave around half time.

‘I can’t focus on anything but the pain I’m going through. It’s really hard.’

The London native went on to discuss how her two daughters, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, who she shares with ex Sam Cooper, have been a pillar of strength lately.

She said: ‘I can say it’s very tough – they’re always there and you have to be there and for them.

‘And that’s okay, when things in life are going well and you can cope with it, it’s very nice to have the children around you, they are a joy.

‘One of the most important sources of joy in anyone’s life. But when things aren’t going so well and life is hard, as it is for many people for all kinds of reasons, it is very difficult to keep things together.’

When asked if it was easier now that her daughters are older, Lily said: Yes, we are a support network for each other and encourage each other to talk about our feelings, but I think the most important thing is to tell them that we are there get through. and it will be fine.”

Lily then assured listeners that she would be back after her time off and told them to dismiss any speculation that she may have returned to rehab after a past drug addiction.

She said:I’m going away next week for a few weeks, listeners, but I want to reassure people because there’s going to be speculation because of the amount of time that I’m going to take away that I’m going to rehab – I have No, I haven’t relapsed.

‘I’ve seen some horrible blind items on the internet where I was found by my husband in a crack den while he was surrounded by men. I don’t know who’s spreading these nasty rumors, but it’s not true.”

“It all comes back to the phones. They don’t do us any good. They certainly aren’t doing me any good right now. I really don’t like my phone.’

‘I’m as guilty of that as anyone else. What I’m really excited about in the next few weeks is not being allowed to have my phone.”

It was recently revealed that Lily had turned to Wagatha Christie to find out if her husband David was looking for other women, amid mixed rumours.

She unleashed an impressive set of skills after suspecting her husband was cheating, and was reportedly left in ‘agony’ when she discovered the actor had a secret profile on celebrity dating app Raya, The Mail on Sunday revealed.

Lily decided there was only one way to find out the truth and rejoined the dating app where she first met David, pretending to be ‘looking for women’.

She soon discovered that David had already set up a dating profile and had been active on the app for at least a month.

A source revealed Lily’s meticulous methods: ‘Lily was looking for women who were on Raya and compared them to women David follows on Instagram to find out who he was seeing. She was doing her Wagatha thing.”

Former England football star Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen has been dubbed ‘Wagatha Christie’ after she turned online detective and identified fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy as the apparent leaker of stories about her.

“Lily only got back together with Raya to find out if he was seeing anyone,” the insider continued.

‘Lily hasn’t even looked at anyone since she met David. She’s devastated. He broke up with Lily a month ago. He was supposed to be on holiday with her in Kenya for Christmas.’

David’s dating profile, exclusively revealed by MoS, reads: ‘Visiting New York from Atlanta’ and ‘closet nerd playing tough guys on your TV’.

He calls his profile song Houses Of The Holy by Led Zeppelin.

David describes himself as living in Atlanta, Georgia, 800 miles from the family home in Brooklyn, New York, where the couple moved in 2020 while Lily enrolled her children in local schools.

He bought a house in Atlanta last year so he could be closer to the Stranger Things set.

The show ended filming the fifth and final series just before Christmas. Lily’s circle of friends in London say that since the fall she has believed that her husband is interested in other women.

By the time the couple broke up about a month ago, she had become convinced he had a secret girlfriend.

The singer has not made any public statements about her relationship with David since it emerged they parted ways in December, but a friend of the Top 10 singer confirmed they had officially ‘parted’.

He has previously spoken about his penchant for a whirlwind romance. “I get carried away easily, but I try not to be,” the Stranger Things actor told Women’s Health in October 2017.

“I’m better at the fantasy of relationships than in everyday real life, but I’m trying to steer myself towards being a realist,” he added.

He continued, “What I find most exciting right now are sharp, intelligent and insightful women. People who think deeply, who have a strange way of looking at the universe, are extremely attractive to me. So if I can find one of those girls who can stand me, then I might have something.”

The actor has a history of dating fellow stage actors and enjoyed a three-year relationship with Broadway veteran Maria Thayler from 2008 to 2011, with the pair even getting engaged.

Shortly after their split, David went public with actress Julia Stiles after the two starred together in the 2012 film Between Us.

They dated for four years, walking several red carpets together and moving in together in New York, before eventually splitting up.

In early 2018, David debuted his romance with actress and singer Alison Sudol. A smitten Alison paid tribute to her husband on social media, writing in a Valentine’s Day post: ‘I’m sitting here thinking to myself, wow, this human I’m on this crazy journey with is pretty incredible.

‘What a generous, big-hearted, roaring wonder of someone I get to walk around with and do things with. Like eating food and reading books out loud and watching our dog sleep. And isn’t that great? What an inflamed soul, what a spirit of fire.”

Just over a year later, the pair had ended their relationship, shortly before David met Lily on Raya.
