‘I can’t have something if it’s not made for me’: Lily Allen admits she FORGETS to eat and she can ‘walk long distances without food’
Lily Allen has claimed that she often forgets to eat — and struggles to eat meals that aren’t “ordered and made for me.”
The 37-year-old said she loves to eat, but her stomach can “go long distances without eating” when she’s distracted looking after her two daughters Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 10.
She also revealed that she is not a big fan of fast food as she has an “anti-capitalist way of thinking about food.”
Her comments come months after she hit back at online trolls who skinny-shamed her following a 2021 TV appearance.
“I’m actually really bad… I’m not really hungry,” she told the Off Menu podcast. “When I see food, I’m like ‘oh yes, I should eat’.”

“I think my stomach actually travels quite long distances without eating, then it has a little bit and it goes ‘yeah.’
‘I love food. I love food, but I’m just not very good at remembering things to do. I get up in the morning and I look after kids and I just forget about it.”
She said she wouldn’t eat after lunch when she performs because she doesn’t like feeling “heavy” on stage and that with her new theater work – she starred in 2:22: A Ghost Story – the one has become ritual. to not eat beforehand and instead go out to dinner with friends and family afterwards.
The singer-turned-actress said she can’t eat at fast food chains like McDonald’s or Burger King or on airplanes because the food is ready-made.
“I have a bit of a weird determination when it comes to fast food,” she said. “I can’t really eat if it’s not ordered and made for me… I can’t really handle the idea of you ordering something and it’s just taken from a pile of food that’s already been made.
“I think there must be some kind of purpose behind it. I can’t eat airplane food because it just comes from a warehouse.’
She said she can “deviate from this if it’s in a vacuum, like a packet of chips,” adding, “It doesn’t make me sound like a really good person doing it.” I suppose it’s actually a rather anti-capitalist way of thinking about food. I don’t feel like mass production and consumption of food.’
The Smile singer, who is married to Stranger Things actor David Harbour, makes a Sunday Roast every week, alternating chicken and beef with cauliflower cheese or cheesy leeks, adding, “There should always be a cheese component.”
She also enjoys a Harrods chicken tikka wrap after a workout at a ‘posh’ gym she uses in Knightsbridge.

She previously opened up about struggling with her body image while promoting her sophomore album It’s Not Me, It’s You and later revealed how she once became addicted to the prescription drug Adderall in an effort to lose weight.
She is currently preparing for her second stage role in Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman, which premieres in the West End in June.
