Lil Wayne reveals he can’t remember most of his discography due to his poor memory which he calls a ‘curse’ and ‘gift’
Lil Wayne is a prolific rapper who has released 285 songs in his 24-year career.
He has released 13 studio albums, one collaboration, three compilations and 29 mixtapes.
But don’t ask him to wax poetic about the differences between his Tha Carter albums or list his favorite songs because he can’t remember because he has a bad memory.
In an interview with Rolling stone he said, “I’ll be so honest with you: I don’t know Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter One from Tha Carter IV.”
“And that’s just the honest truth from my God. You could lie, you could ask me [about] that and that song, I wouldn’t even know what we’re talking about. So it has no meaning at all to me.

He continued, “I don’t even know if Tha Carter III came out then. I don’t know that much. I work every day, bro – every day.
“And I also always think of it as the curse part of the gift and the curse. I believe that [God] blessed me with this great spirit, but did not want to give [me] a great reminder to remember this great shit,” he admitted.
The outlet asked the forgetful rapper how he used his poor memory to differentiate between all of his different projects.
The Lollipop singer said that the effects and the tone of the songs, be it a Tha Carter song or a DJ Drama song or whatever, makes them stand out for him.
And he doesn’t have a favorite song either.
“My favorite song is the last one I record. And then I’ll forget about it after the next one I record,’ he said.
But despite his memory, the Sucker for Pain rapper is still aiming to be the best rapper in the world.
He said he pursues that goal with, “Every action, every word, every approach. The reason I’m still just listening and working on my own shit is because I’m in it.”

“I believe once you start trying to listen to everyone, you’re out of it. You’re just happy to be here. But not me. I work on my own game in a gym. I don’t care how high you jump. I don’t care how fast you run. You can’t even stand next to me with that shit,” he added.
The Formula rapper is not intimidated by the new generation of rappers either.
“The motivation isn’t to show them I’m still that guy, which I am. The motivation is to show them why I’m still that guy,” he told the outlet.
‘That’s the motivation, because I want them to hopefully benefit from that and they will remain whoever they are.’
