Lil Tay sparks fan fears by claiming she’s in the hospital – a year after death hoax

Influencer and rapper Lil Tay has caused fear among fans after claiming she is in hospital, a year after she alleged her father faked her death.

On Wednesday, her X account announced that there was “devastating news about Tay,” followed by another post saying, “Please pray for Tay,” who is “dealing with a life-threatening emergency.”

Late Thursday morning, the account posted another cryptic message reading: “Tay is currently in serious condition in intensive care,” next to an image of a sign reading “Pediatric Intensive Care” in a hospital hallway.

A spokesperson for Lil Tay told DailyMail.com that “this is not a hoax” and has nothing to do with last year’s incident.

The recent news comes just a year after the deaths of the ‘Sucker 4 Green’ artist, who rose to fame at the age of nine for starring in a series of raunchy rap videos, and her brother Jason were falsely reported.

Fans responded en masse to her recent alarming posts, with some sending her their best wishes, while others speculated on whether the posts were true.

‘Omg… I hope she is ok and recovering!! Stay safe and lots of love from all of us,’ wrote one concerned fan.

“Prayers, hoping for a full recovery,” said another.

Others, however, weren’t so convinced, with one writing: ‘She’s basically saying she’s about to release a new album….’

“We have to see the operation, otherwise you’re lying,” said another.

The teenager, who was born Claire Hope but has since confirmed her legal name is Tay Tian, ​​later revealed that her Instagram account had been “hacked.”

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive but I’m so sad about this and I can’t even find the right words to say,” Lil Tay said TMZ last august.

“It has been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tear-jerking phone calls from loved ones as I tried to clean up this mess.”

The influencer, who made headlines in 2018 after alleging she was abused by her father Christopher Hope and exploited by her brother, failed to explain why it took more than 24 hours for her to confirm she was alive and well.

Tay alleged that her Instagram account had been “hacked by a third party” and was spreading “shocking misinformation and rumors” about her.

The young star also confirmed that she was able to access her account after the hoax.

It is still unclear who exactly controls the young personality’s social media pages, which are filled with controversial statements about politics and sexuality, among other things.

She also revealed that she no longer uses her birth name, Claire Hope, which was the nickname used in the now-deleted fake obituary.

Shortly after Lil Tay’s statement was released, social media was flooded with speculation about the legitimacy of her claims. Many users wondered why it had taken so long for her to investigate the false rumors about her death. Others speculated that the entire hoax was a desperate attempt to gain publicity.

After the obituary was posted on Lil Tay’s Instagram account — which had been inactive since June 2018 — the influencer gained more than 200,000 new followers.

Her account currently has 5.2 million followers, but there are no posts on her page.

The fake obituary, which has since been removed, said: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we share the terrible news of the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Claire.

“We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was completely unexpected and has left us all in shock. The passing of her brother adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.

“At this time of immense sadness, we kindly ask that you please respect your privacy as we mourn this tremendous loss. The circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still being investigated.”

The conclusion read: ‘Claire will remain in our hearts forever. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.’

After the news broke, multiple news outlets around the world reported on Tay’s death. The death was quickly surrounded by a sinister mystery when her own father stated that he could not confirm whether she was alive or dead.

Meanwhile, local authorities in Vancouver, where Christopher lives, and Los Angeles, where Lil Tay lived with her mother, had no evidence of an investigation into the deaths of Claire or her brother Jason when contacted by DailyMail.com.

Lil Tay’s former manager Harry Tsang added to the confusion when he released a cryptic statement on the news, refusing to “confirm” that the rapper had actually died.

She suddenly came into the spotlight in 2017 after she began posting a series of controversial and bizarre videos online, in which she used the N-word and got into fights with strangers.

She quickly gained millions of followers, but her bizarre clips left some people online concerned for her well-being.

Her brother launched a GoFundMe donation page for his sister in 2021, asking for donations to help Lil Tay “in her fight against her abusive father.”

He shared disturbing images showing Lil Tay with a huge red mark on her cheek, which he claims was caused by her father.

“Tay is in desperate need of funds to support her fight against her abusive father,” he wrote in the GoFundMe description.

‘As of April 23, 2021, Tay will stand trial in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Canada against her absent father, Chris Hope, who, along with his wife Hanee Hope (formerly known as Richanee Alcover), physically and mentally abused her.
