Jacques Villeneuve became the first Formula 1 driver to get married on track after tying the knot in Las Vegas.

The 1997 world champion was linked to his partner Giulia after a chapel was set up at the Sin City circuit.

‘Race to the Altar’ was the campaign behind the wedding chapel, and Villeneuve was quick to make F1 history by getting married.

Giulia was seen in a stunning white dress, while Villeneuve rocked a three-piece navy blue suit for the special occasion.

His former Williams engineer, Jock Clear, was his best man.

The ceremony took place before a chaotic first practice session – which lasted just eight minutes before being canceled – and was littered with oddities.

The couple played the well-known intro with the F1 theme into the chapel, as well as the more traditionally played ‘Here Comes The Bride’.

The procedure was handled by an Elvis impersonator, which is common at fast-paced weddings in Vegas.

Villeneuve is not only a world champion himself, but is also known as the son of legendary Ferrari driver Gilles.

His father died in an accident during qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix.
