Lidia Thorpe’s Canberra Posie Parker protest labelled ‘pathetic’ by Liberal leader Peter Dutton
Opposition leader Peter Dutton unleashed a scathing diatribe against Lidia Thorpe, labeling the rogue senator’s scuffle with police as “a pathetic display.”
The Greens defector attempted to interrupt a rally in Canberra by controversial ‘women’s rights’ activist Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull – known as Posie Parker – and was pulled to the ground by AFP agents in a dramatic moment video was captured.
Senator Thorpe then crawled across the grass before joining a “pro-trans” counter-protest group.
Mr Dutton said Senator Thorpe’s actions were ‘shameful’.
“The Australian Federal Police should not be wasting its resources dealing with Senator Thorpe’s stunts,” he said Thursday.
“It was a pathetic display and she should be ashamed of her behavior.”

Attorney General Mark Dreyfus also weighed in on the incident, saying the footage showing Senator Thorpe refusing to be apprehended by police before riding off on his hands and knees was “disturbing.”
“I have sought urgent advice from the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police,” Dreyfus said.

The independent senator from the “black sovereignty” movement later claimed she had been “pulverized” by police, saying Ms Keen-Minshull – whom she called “filth” – was not allowed to speak on Aboriginal land.
Ms Keen-Minshull toured Australia with rallies in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart, sparking ferocious counter-demonstrations by pro-LGBTQI activists.

As the rain poured down on Canberra, hundreds of anti-Posie protesters flocked to Ms Keen-Minshull’s ‘pro women’ rally, separated on the lawns of Parliament House by two dozen police officers.
Attendees bumped into pro-trans protesters by holding signs that read “wild boys are not boys,” “protest the innocence of children,” and “libraries are for books, not perversion.”
On the other hand, there were slogans like ‘bigties in the trash’, ‘f*** off Posie, f**k off’ and ‘you’ve got the Nazis on your side’.
Following Ms Thorpe’s attempt to disrupt Keen-Minshull’s speech – which was reminiscent of her lying down in front of a float at Mardi Gras last month – the former Greens senator overturned the decision to allow the controversial speaker into the country.
“We will not tolerate this kind of filth in Ngunnawal and Ngambri country, let alone the Nazi support that these people have,” she said.
“They’re racist, they’re homophobic, they destroy people’s lives. This country should be ashamed that they even let people like this into this country.

“I went to tell her they are not welcome here, and I was pulverized by the police for simply telling that person not to be here.
“I was attacked by the police today as a sovereign Gunnai, Gunditjmara, DjabWurrung woman.
“And the police must answer for the attack, but this government must also answer why these people are being allowed into the country.”
The Australian Federal Police later issued a statement confirming that ‘interactions with protestors will be assessed’.
An unnamed incident – believed to be the altercation with Senator Thorpe – has been referred to the AFP’s Professional Standards Command, the spokesman said.
“As a matter is now under investigation, no further comments will be made.”
Senator Thorpe did not appear in Senate Question Time on Thursday after the protest, nor did Senator Hanson.

More than 100 anti-trans protesters gathered at the rally holding signs reading “bigots in the bin,” “f*** off Posie f**k off,” and “you’ve got Nazis on your side.”
Some of those in attendance told Daily Mail Australia it was their first time protesting, spurred mainly by Ms Keen-Minshull’s ‘hateful’ rhetoric on her national tour.
Simon, 23, said he “couldn’t bear to know she’s in my town” and didn’t let the pouring rain stop him from demonstrating, which was “a bit symbolic, I think,” he said.
In the background those gathered around him chanted ‘f***k off’ and at one point had to be stopped by the police while trying to move forward.
Across the lawn, pro-women protesters were booing and dancing, mocking the crowd as Ms Keen-Minshull spoke of the ‘gender crisis’ unfolding in Australia.
“It’s the next lobotomy scandal, but this time we’re doing it to kids,” she claimed.
Her voice was drowned out by the sounds of musical instruments and jeers, but those who gathered to support her applauded and cheered anyway as she vowed never to stop fighting for women’s rights.
“We say the things that sometimes we’re afraid to say in real life, without caring what people around us say,” she said.
“I have to have a goddamn police escort from the airport because I said women don’t have penises. It’s bloody disgusting.’
