Lidia Thorpe has stormed back into Parliament after being suspended to shout about ‘genocide’ outside the Senate doors.
On Wednesday, the rogue senator tore up documents on fellow independent senator Fatima Payman’s parliamentary eligibility before throwing them at One Nation leader Pauline Hanson and repeatedly branding her a “convicted racist”.
Senator Thorpe then appeared to twirl her middle finger over her shoulder as she stormed out of the room.
The Senate passed a motion on Wednesday evening to suspend Senator Thorpe from the House for ‘disorderly conduct’ until the end of Thursday, which is also the last scheduled parliamentary session day of 2024.
But on Thursday morning she came screaming outside the room doors.
She then appeared at the press gallery where she shouted “Free Palestine, from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” before leaving, the reported ABC.
Labor Senate leader Penny Wong’s motion was passed by 46-11 on Thursday in Senator Thorpe’s absence.
“We all have a responsibility for our behavior, whether we are in this place or contributing to the public debate,” Senator Wong told the Senate.
“We were all elected to represent Australians and their interests.
