Liberal TikToker is going viral after complaining that the only manly men she can find are conservative

A TikToker is going viral for a video complaining about liberal men not meeting her dating standards.

posted last week, the clip comes from TikTok user @ms_petch — a Los Angeles brunette who regularly posts about her unhappy dating life.

A self-proclaimed “liberal,” her posts often prove polarizing and regularly show a penchant for progressive men.

Her most recent achievement – posted last Thursday to 35,200 followers – was little different, but served as a slight departure from the rest of her online body of work.

In it, she wondered why she can’t find a left-wing man who exudes a certain amount of masculinity. She attributed certain characteristics to a traditional, masculine man, and soon added another condition: someone “who is not conservative.”

Calling it “one of the saddest realizations” she’s ever had, TikTok user @ms_petch lamented last Thursday that liberal men aren’t manly enough for her — and asked why she can’t find a more traditional partner who’s “not conservative”

A Los Angeles-based brunette who regularly posts about her unhappy dating life, TikTok user @ms_petch then attributed certain, traditional characteristics to her so-called prefect man, before parlaying the politically related requirement

“As a liberal woman, it is very difficult to find a man who is willing to play the more traditional masculine role in the relationship in the present day and who is not conservative,” the TikToker explains of what she considers the optimal male.

“Obviously as a liberal woman,” she continues, touting her left-wing status for the second time, “I do want to be respected for my independence, and I want to have my own autonomy in the relationship and not be conformed to the traditional female housewife, fertile role.’

She then adds – in what she labeled “one of” [her] saddest realizations’ – ‘Abd nost of the men I’ve dated who have that more natural provider masculinity about them are normally conservative.’

The content creator then attributes certain characteristics to what she considers a perfect man – thinking about how to combine this with the aforementioned political condition without forfeiting her, as she put it, “morals and values.”

“A man who will pay on the first date, who will open your door, who has the will and desire to take care of and provide for you.”

Then she specifies for the second time, “Who isn’t conservative.”

She wonders why she can’t find a more masculine, traditional man without compromising

As she spoke, text appeared at the top of the video asking followers if she was asking too much with her requests – while talking about a desire to be “equal” to a future partner who still cares for her.

“Am I asking too much here?!?!” read the chyron. “To be somewhat equal and yet have a man who cares for me and cares for me to some degree?”

Another plaintive caption criticized some of the lackluster, liberal men she’s believed to have encountered: “All these men here want to split the bill.” ON THE FIRST DATE!!!! Whaaaaaat.’

She laments again about how her search for a strong-willed, left-wing man has failed so far – before asking if she’s being unreasonable.

“I don’t really know what to do because I don’t want to risk my morals and values just to find a man.”

“Do I ask to have my cake and eat it too?”

Some commentators supported TikToker’s analysis, while others called it out for what they called a double standard

The clip then drops, but has since been viewed more than a quarter of a million times.

Commentators were somewhat divided on the content creator’s assessment of the content, with many calling out the woman for what they claimed was a “double standard.”

However, some expressed solidarity with TikToker’s analysis, with many pointing out that being conservative doesn’t make them a bad partner.

“When he’s at work, paying the bills, bringing the food home. Then I clean the house, cook the doot ect [sic]’ someone wrote. “I look at it like it’s balanced.”

Another user claimed, “His morals and values are his. They don’t have to be the same. Just because he’s conservative doesn’t mean he’s a bad person.’

To that, @ms_etch replied in a comment, “I don’t think conservatives are bad people [sic] not at all. I just don’t agree w [sic] their values.

“I think it would be very challenging to marry someone who has.”

Another chimed in: “The beauty of conservatives is that you don’t have to compromise on your morals.

He advised, “You never know if [you’ve] found love if you don’t take the chance.’

In subsequent videos posted in response to the backlash she now faces, the TikToker took the time to address her critics.

In one, she reiterated her position that all she wants is a man who has some “traditional values and at the same time is very progressive in social issues,” while in another she quoted how she recently went on a date with someone with sporty features of both political ideologies.

She said she had “so much more to offer” besides being “housebound” like a traditional wife, but still expressed a desire for a traditional man.

One commenter commented, “No, she can’t have her cake and eat it too.” Masculine men want feminine women. Her views don’t match.’
