Libbie Mugrabi accuses billionaire ex-husband of ‘hiring hit woman to KILL HER’
Libbie Mugrabi has accused her billionaire ex-husband David of hiring a hit man to kill her when she arrived at court wearing a $25,000 body armor.
The 42-year-old New York socialite sued in lower Manhattan family court to seek a restraining order against her ex-partner and full custody of their two children.
Mugrabi wore black sunglasses, a white see-through dress that revealed her underwear and sling-back kitten heels when she arrived at court on Wednesday.
Libbie told DailyMail.com, “A lady waited outside my house for seven days.”
During the hearing, the judge granted Mugrabi a temporary restraining order against David for herself and her 14-year-old son Joseph.
David and Libbie Mugrabi went through a messy $100 million divorce in 2020 that included a fight over a $72 million mansion in Manhattan, his family’s art collection estimated to be worth $5 billion, and their Hamptons home .
They were together for 13 years before breaking up.

Libbie said as she stepped into Manhattan today, “A Russian woman named Devora told me that David tried to kill me. She waited outside in a car for seven days, every day she waits outside.’
She claims the woman told her she was friends with David – and that the pair are “doing business together.”
Mugrabi claimed the woman told her that one day her ex-husband asked “if she knew anyone who could hire Russian to kill me,” to which the woman replied “you can’t do that to your children’s mother.”
The socialite added: “David says I’m a liar and making false police reports. That’s called gaslighting, that’s called narcissism.’
This is not the first time Mugrabi has taken her marital problems to court.
She filed a restraining order against her ex-husband in 2018, accusing him of stealing $250 million worth of art from her Hamptons home and beating her up with a Keith Haring sculpture.
Mugrabi said outside the court: ‘This is not my first time here [in family court].

“This is now my second time. First Him [David] beat me up and now he’s trying to kill me. I gave him a green card when I married him.
‘He is from Colombia and has five passports. He’s holding my kids’ passports, so I can’t take them out of the country. I signed the wrong divorce agreement that said I had to stay within five miles of him and I couldn’t have my kids’ passports.
“I got divorced during the lockdown and he stopped paying child support and alimony because of Covid. I put my foot down and I’m here to get custody.
“I have to stay within five miles of him to see my kids. He pays $5,000 a month in child support, that’s all. He doesn’t pay for the kids, I pay it out of my alimony which is $65,000 a month.
“When we got married, the deal was that I would have two kids and make them after his parents, which is why I didn’t have a pre-nup.
He had no money in his account. I had half a million dollars I gave him.”
In April, a New York judge ordered Mugrabi to pay more than $1.8 million in unpaid rent and utilities for a lavish Upper East Side apartment where she once lived.

She was cited in two lawsuits alleging that she stopped paying her $28,000 a month rent for the East 82nd Street apartment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Debra James awarded the landlord a judgment of $1,815,238, including taxes, court documents show.
Mugrabi – the ex-wife of billionaire art dealer David Mugrabi – said she had moved permanently into a home in the Hamptons and said of the reward awarded in court that it “seems insane.”
Mugrabi had been issued an eviction notice in October before the lawsuits against her were filed.
David’s Syrian family is a legend in the art world and is worth an estimated $5 billion. He met Libbie at The St Regis Hotel in Aspen, Colorado and married in 2005.
