Liam Neeson will star in the new thriller The Riker’s Ghost, directed by The Crying Game mastermind Neil Jordan.
The iconic actor, 70, will play a convict set to be released who is then forced to break a terrorist out of prison, reports Deadline.
The movie will begin filming in September 2023 and is written by Sean O’Keefe and Brian Rudnick.
The project will see Neeson meet Jordan and Parallel Film producer Alan Moloney after the trio worked on the thriller Marlowe.
Jordan said: ‘This is a unique version of the prison break. A bare-knuckle journey from incarceration to freedom, by someone who just wants to finish his term.
Liam Neeson will play the reluctant fugitive, and I can’t wait to explore this character with him.

Added Moloney: “I’m delighted to join forces again with Neil and Liam. We’ve assembled an elite team to support Neil’s vision of the script and direction. This one will have you on the edge of your seat.
Moloney, Endurance Media’s Steve Richards and Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt will produce, with Jake Katofsky and Susan Mullen serving as co-producers.
Neese and Richards memorably worked together on the action film Non-Stop, which was a box office hit in 2014.
This comes days after Neeson he went on a bizarre rant directed at Conor McGregor while giving his opinion on UFC fights.
