Liam Hemsworth, 34, and Laura Dern, 57, sizzle in racy love scenes in their new age gap romance Lonely Planet

Liam Hemsworth and Laura Dern steam onto the screen in their spicy new romance, Lonely Planet.

The Australian actor, 34, and his leading lady, 57, aren’t letting their 23-year age difference get in the way of making movie magic.

The racy scenes see the pair get hot and heavy in a passionate embrace, so eager to make love that they do it while standing.

Clips from the highly anticipated drama, now streaming on Netflix, show the pair clawing at each other, their clothes coming off as they share passionate cuddles.

Liam has said that the scenes weren’t a problem at all as he and Laura have great chemistry.

‘[We] didn’t know each other beforehand,” the 6-foot-4 Australian heartthrob admitted People on Wednesday.

‘It was strange. It felt like we had known each other for a long time, and there was an immediate trust and connection. And as we worked together, it only grew and evolved.”

Liam continued: “We had a great time doing this project together. And it was really an unexpected, wonderful surprise to work with someone who I was already such a big fan of and who is obviously an amazing, brilliant actress.”

In it, Hemsworth’s youngest brother plays Owen Brophy, a man who attends an idyllic writers’ retreat in Morocco to support his girlfriend Lily Kemp (Diana Silvers), who then tells a room full of people, “He only reads Sports Illustrated.”

Instead, Brophy becomes enamored with reclusive, newly single author Katherine Loewe and they embark on a love affair in Marrakech in Susannah Grant’s May-December romance premiering on Netflix this Friday.

In the trailer, Katherine warns Owen to be “gentle” as he places his hand on her shoulder and leans in for a kiss by the pool.

“When you meet someone you’re a fan of and have so much respect for, you don’t want to come off as an idiot or seem stupid. But when we met, I suddenly thought: “Oh, I’m talking to someone who understands and hears me,” said Miley Cyrus’ ex-husband.

The LA-born Oscar winner interrupted: “Who else is that idiotic and stupid?”

“And she’s just as much of an idiot as I am,” Liam smiled.

“We got along great and we never had to do any work to find that relationship. We had a connection and it was kind of… what do you call it? Life imitating art or something else, art imitating life?’

Laura said filming with Hemsworth “felt like we were just walking around experiencing Morocco, hanging out as Laura and Liam, and someone somewhere was filming it.”

“There were times when we were filming in the markets of Marrakech where we couldn’t even see the camera,” described the Emmy-nominated producer – who will soon helm season four of The Witcher.

“We were literally walking around and talking to each other, just getting into it.”

Diana Silvers, Younès Boucif, Adriano Giannini and Rachida Brakni will also star in Lonely Planet.
