Liam Gallagher leaves Oasis fans unimpressed with ‘terrible’ vocals at Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois boxing match at Wembley: ‘Glad I never got tickets for the reunion tour!’

Oasis fans have criticised Liam Gallagher for doing his reunion tour ‘no favours’ as he performed for Anthony Joshua‘s boxing match against Daniel Dubois.

Fans of the 52-year-old Wonderwall singer, who will tour again with his brother Noel in July 2025, branded his performance at Wembley on Saturday “terrible”.

Dubois surprised the world, knocking out AJ in the fifth round of their IBF heavyweight title fight on Saturday night.

But after they played a three-song set – Rock n’ Roll Star, Supersonic and Cigarettes and Alcohol – fans didn’t hold back, with some even saying they were glad they hadn’t been able to get tickets.

The disappointing performance came after many were left disappointed when technical issues on the Ticketmaster website and sky-high dynamic prices left them unable to secure tickets for next year’s Oasis tour.

British rivals Dubois and AJ finally met in the ring to battle for the heavyweight title in a packed Wembley Stadium. To the surprise of many, it was Dubois who emerged victorious.

From the kick-off, ‘Dynamite’ Dubois put on a sensational performance, showcasing his immense power and scoring a knockdown in the opening round.

Despite some calling it a ‘terrible’ show, Liam certainly helped make history as the show went on to become the biggest live boxing event in British history.

The previous record for the largest attendance at a boxing match in the UK was 94,000 fans for a 2021 fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.

Among the 96,000 fans who filled the stadium were Love Island’s Maya Jama, Connor McGregor and Emma Burton.

But after playing a three-song set – Rock n’ Roll Star, Supersonic and Cigarettes and Alcohol – fans raved about his ‘horrible’ performance

The set was so ’embarrassing’ that some Oasis fans were ‘pleased they hadn’t been able to get Oasis tickets’

Boxing legend Tyson Fury also appeared with his son Tommy, who was booed when he entered the stadium following his split from Molly-Mae Hague.

And some enjoyed his performance. Some fans who watched the big match at the time said the Briton was still ‘the man’.

‘I don’t want to see any slander of Liam Gallagher here, he’s just Biblical’

‘Liam Gallagher, the coolest man on the planet’

‘Liam Gallagher is the man’

The boxing fans in attendance also seemed happy to see the singer, who chanted ‘Liam, Liam’ between songs.

The iconic frontman strutted with his trademark confidence and almost nonchalance as he played an array of percussion instruments including maracas and a tambourine.

Liam had already been confirmed as the headliner for the show ahead of Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight title fight against Daniel Dubois, long before the Gallagher brothers decided to fight together for the first time in more than 15 years.

And some enjoyed the performance, with some fans watching the big match saying the Brit was still ‘the man’

Speaking ahead of the event, Queensberry Promotions Chairman Frank Warren said: “We’re going to see something special. For me, there’s nothing better than two Brits in a competitive fight.

“I believe Daniel will show what he’s made of. I’ve believed in him from day one. He’s gone through trials and tribulations and he’s going to keep that belt.

“He’s going to prove that he’s the IBF champion. We’ve got a new kid on the block. This kid can fight, he can punch. He’s mobile, he’s fast, he’s a good finisher.

“Dubois is a bigger puncher than AJ, and one thing is for sure – don’t blink in this fight. I believe this heavyweight fight will be the Brit Hagler-Hearns; it’s going to be that exciting.”
