Liam Gallagher is delighted his children now suffer terrible hangovers

Liam Gallagher has revealed he’s thrilled that his kids now suffer from bad hangovers – because they’ve come to realize he wasn’t a miserable bad dad when he had them and wouldn’t get out of bed.

The Wonderwall hitmaker, 50, now engaged to Debbie Gwyther, has a son Lennon, 23, from his first marriage to Patsy Kensit, a daughter Molly, 25, from an affair with Lisa Moorish, and a younger son Gene, 21, from his time with Nicole Appleton, whom he also married before they later split.

He also has a 10-year-old daughter Gemma from an affair with journalist Liza Ghorbani.

But the former member of the Oasis band said the older three are now beginning to appreciate the morning after feelings after a long night of partying and drinking – finally understanding his former lifestyle from his younger, wilder days.

Liam often said that now they say they don’t want to see him because of their throbbing heads.

Talking about his relationship with them and big nights out, the former Oasis rock star said: ‘They know it now too, because they get little hangovers themselves and stuff.

‘And they sit there saying ‘Oh, Dad, you know, like they used to say ‘look I’m not coming out, don’t do that today’, and I used to think you were a bad dad and that tackle, ’cause you lay in bed, so to speak – I get it now’.

“Because when you ask them to come over, they say, ‘No, I was out until 6 in the morning.’

“So you know… they’re partying right now. But it is good.’

However, Liam said he manages to enjoy quality time with them and “have a laugh” when they all head to his holiday home in France.

He told Jo Whiley on her Radio 2 show: ‘We’re not sitting around reading or talking about Rembrandt.

“We’re having a good time, eating eating, having fights, all that stuff — we’re having a good time.”

“When they were young I wasn’t around that much to be honest. You’re a little bit there. So it’s nice to be there.’

The revelation comes after it was reported on Wednesday that Liam had to postpone his upcoming wedding to Debbie.

The Champagne Supernova songwriter, who has been married twice before, decided to postpone the posh Italian ceremony because he’s still recovering from recent hip surgery and wants to be in “top shape” before walking down the aisle.

In February this year, Liam announced he had major surgery to replace both of his hips after previously revealing that he needed the surgery due to arthritis due to a long term thyroid problem.

Despite already booking their big day on the shores of Lake Como, the couple instead decided to turn the trip into a family vacation amid the rocker’s path to recovery.

A source told The sun“The wedding was supposed to take place last month, but in the weeks leading up, Liam and Debbie decided to postpone it.

“Liam is still recovering from his hip surgery and wants to be in great shape when he says I’m doing that for the third time.

They were joined by his sons Gene and Lennon and his daughter Molly and enjoyed a relaxing break.

MailOnline has reached out to Liam’s representatives for comment.

The rock star has been in a relationship with music manager Debbie – whom he called his ‘soul mate’ – for about ten years.

Liam got down on one knee during a 2019 romantic getaway in Italy to the Amalfi Coast, The Sun reported at the time.

His beloved mother Peggie joined the couple on vacation and would be overjoyed when her son popped the question to Debbie.

Liam first met Debbie in 2013 with the pair spotted as he launched his solo career with band Beady Eye.

But the pair have seen a tumultuous relationship, with footage emerging of Liam grabbing Debbie by the throat at Chiltern Firehouse – which the rocker has vehemently denied.

Liam opened up about his relationship with Debbie in his 2017 documentary As It Was, which focuses on his solo career.

He said, ‘Debbie was the one. She’s the one like “Come on, you didn’t kill anyone, let’s get back to the music.”‘

In the documentary, Debbie said: “The Liam I know and the Liam in the public eye are completely different. He occasionally drinks too much, he’s impulsive, and he curses a lot, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be soft at the same time.

“He has a lot of trouble with family. The way he is with me, the way he is with my family, his children and his mother is the reason I love him.”
