Liam Gallagher has confirmed he’s talked to John Squire about forming a supergroup.
The former Oasis frontman, 50, brought in the former Stone Roses guitarist for his pair of Knebworth shows in June, to perform the Britpop group’s 1995 classic ‘Champagne Supernova’.
He then took to Twitter to tease possible future projects with 59-year-old compatriot Mancunian, writing: ‘Supergroup incoming LG JS. (sic)’

Speaking to Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1 for the Home Sessions series, the Diamond In The Dark singer confirmed that the pair will be working together “at some point” and he hopes to sing some songs for him.
He said, ‘Yes. Serious guy. But we have to do things first, and he has to clean things up and stuff. But yes, I will definitely do summat one day.’
Matt asked, “So you’ve actually had the conversation for a bit?”
Liam – whose return to Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire 26 years after Oasis became famous to a record-breaking 250,000 fans over two nights at the outdoor venue – replied: ‘Maybe, yes. Probably did at Knebworth and that, I guess, if I can remember anything about it. But no.

‘There is talk of summat. Could be. But no rush. He is my man, I love him. So if he’s got tunes to sing, I’m the boy, mate. (sic)’
A few years ago, Liam – who turned 50 on Wednesday – said his dream supergroup would consist of someone from The Stone Roses and his good friend, Richard Ashcroft, formerly of The Verve.
In 2017, he said, “The ideal would be the guys from The Stone Roses. I think they just broke up, so that would be fine.
‘[Richard] Ashcroft would be good. There are many people, but most of them all do their own thing. But if they want to do one, just give a yell. I do it.’

According to the Mail On Sunday, Liam is celebrating his 50th birthday on the breathtakingly beautiful – and peaceful – Caribbean island of Mustique.
He has spent around £30,000 on a villa and is taking at least ten friends on a private jet for his big day on Wednesday.
Friends say his fiancée Debbie helped Gwyther organize the party, and they will be joined by his daughter Molly and sons Gene and Lennon.
However, his estranged brother Noel is not invited.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Liam paid to take friends and family to a big week-long party.
“He’s rented a really flashy private villa with a private beach – he wanted to go somewhere where he wouldn’t have people taking pictures of him.
“He keeps joking that what happens on Mustique stays on Mustique, so anyone who goes expects it to be a big one.
“We were all a little surprised when he said he would take us to Mustique, it’s such a peaceful place.”
