LG’s 34-inch curved OLED gaming monitor is almost half the price

OLED gaming monitors are the real deal… for those who can afford them. Like their TV counterparts, they typically command a premium price because they deliver the goods with unbeatable color and lighting accuracy thanks to the display technology’s per-pixel control. When it comes to OLED gaming monitors in particular, the list of benefits is endless, from ultra-wide viewing angles to industry-leading refresh rates and more.

I’m not dangling all these qualities in front of you for nothing: Best Buy has drastically slashed the price of LG’s 34-inch curved OLED gaming monitor to €699.99 (was $1,299.99) as part of the latest flash sale.

You may already know that there are dozens of OLED gaming monitors to choose from these days, made in various sizes by several big players in PC gaming. However, the majority of them use panels produced by LG Display. So your final purchasing decision shouldn’t depend on the quality of the screen (hint: they’re all great), but rather on the monitor’s design, features, warranty, and ports.

That said, this LG UltraGear 34-inch model does offer a lot of high-end features for the price. It supports a 240Hz refresh rate with an ultra-wide resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 (WQHD). It also has an HDMI 2.1 port, which allows consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to display compatible games at high frame rates. If you’re someone who hears “OLED” and immediately thinks of burn-in, i.e., when certain images or patterns become permanently attached to the pixels, you don’t have to worry as much with this model. LG offers a two-year warranty that protects against this defect, along with other defects.

It was a watershed moment in PC gaming when OLED monitors like these hit the shelves a few years ago, and now that prices are finally starting to drop on this fantastic technology, it’s great that even more people can see their games the way they were meant to be experienced.
