These are the prices for both models:

48-in | $1,599 | $1,399 |
55-in | $1,999 | $1,799 |
65-in | $2,699 | $2,499 |
77-in | $3,699 | $3,499 |

97-in | $24,999 | N/A |
Nearly every size of both the LG C4 and G4 have seen a price increase over last year’s models. Only the 83-inch G4 has the same release price, a welcome surprise considering the 83-inch G4 marks the first time an OLED screen of this size has included microlens array (MLA) technology to improve brightness. Additionally, the 97-inch G4 costs $24,999, the same price as the 97-inch LG G2 (there was no G3 model in this size).
Apart from these two models, there are price increases across the board. Most surprising of all is the $200 increase in almost every size of the C4, aside from the largest 83-inch size, which sees a $100 price increase. This is LG’s value-for-money model, so any change in the money section risks upsetting the fine balance. Fortunately, during our LG C4 hands-on we noticed that it seems dramatically brighter, so perhaps worth the price increase.
As for the LG G4, the news is not rather so bad, but there is still a $100 price increase for every size except the 83 and 97 inches mentioned above. This also gets a brightness boost compared to last year, and we said in our LG G4 hands-on that this isn’t the only welcome upgrade it gets.
Not a great year for TV awards
While prices for these TVs are likely to drop after launch, it will likely take several months for any discounts to materialize. To some extent this is to be expected as prices generally continue to rise at the moment, and TVs are no different.
The increase in LG’s OLEDs is a shame, but from information we’ve received about the European prices of Samsung’s 2024 OLED TVs, it’s likely that these will also be more expensive in the US, so LG’s models will are likely to still be competitive despite the high costs. upwards.
At the very least, LG’s OLEDs will likely still be among the more competitively priced on the market and remain cheaper than the best OLED TVs from Sony, which is always adding other premium elements to its TVs and selling them at higher prices. Still, at a time when many are feeling economic pressure, we wish prices would move in the other direction.
